My Ukrainian Healthy Lunch Food to Keep Fit or Lose Weight

As promised, I'm going to show you my meals that allow me to keep my body fit or even lose weight during my fitness transformation.

In this post, I show you an example of my Ukrainian food for lunch during the summertime. But if these foods are available to you regularly, then you can consume them at any time of the year. The photo doesn't look aesthetic because I took it at that time just to show my meal to a friend of mine who wanted to get rid of some fat and get a six-pack.

My Ukrainian Healthy Lunch Food to Keep Fit or Lose Weight

The meal consists of:

  • 4 walnuts  - about 100 calories,
  • Pears (steamed/stewed) about 800 grams - about 320 calories,
  • Blackberry - about 100 calories,
  • Pearl barley - 200 grams, cooked in water for about an hour with salt and sprinkled with a teaspoon of ground flax seeds after cooking. It's about 600 calories,
  • 2 cucumbers, 1 tomato, greens - fresh parsley and arugula. I don't count their calories because it's too little.

Total about 1120 calories.

The pears were steamed under the lid with a little water to create steam for 15 minutes because they were not yet fully ripe and were slightly hard, slightly tart, and sour. Such cooking makes them soft, and neutralizes tartness and sourness, while the sweetness remains.

I never have breakfast. I just don't feel like it. So my first meal of the day is lunch around 12 am. I can only have breakfast if I know I won't be able to have lunch due to being busy during the day and will have dinner later.

As you can see, the amount of food is large, I eat until my stomach is full and I feel satiety. But you have to understand that I only have two meals a day - lunch around 12 am and dinner around 6 pm. Therefore, this amount of food normally fits in my stomach. Moreover, such food is easily digested and I do not have heaviness in my stomach. And you can see in the photo in the post about my fitness transformation that my stomach is pretty flat and I have a well-developed six-pack.

I usually drink a little water because I eat lots of fruits and vegetables that contain enough water. I drink water when I feel thirsty or just by feeling.

As you can see, there is no animal food here. I usually eat animal food for dinner.

This meal allows me to keep my weight around 80 kg, feel energetic, and look quite athletic. It also allowed me to lose weight from 95 kg to 80 kg since the calories/energy that such a lunch contains is not enough to maintain a body weight of 95 kg and my body has no other choice but to use body fat as an energy source.  So after 6 months of keeping this diet, I reached the fit body shape that I have now.

I can also add that all fruits and vegetables are natural, organic, and grown in our garden. So I'm lucky in this regard.

Kai Greene parted ways with his coach Oscar Ardennes

Why Kai Greene left Oscar? Interesting news excited fans of Kai Green and the bodybuilding world in general: Kai Greene decided to stop working with his coach Oscar Ardennes. Oscar and Kai's cooperation started before the Arnold Classic in 2009, although they had previously known each other. The cooperation immediately paid off — that was the victory in Columbus, which contributed to the continuation of the tandem. This is true, but things didn't go as expected. Yes, there was a victory at Arnold Classic in 2010, but many began to notice that Kai Greene showed muscle quality not as good as before, and since then he has not shown the best condition. However, the steady growth of muscle mass goes really well. They say that Ardennes's training method is focused on muscle mass. Mr. Olympia 2010 went not good for Kai Greene. Oscar Ardennes didn't want to admit his own mistakes as Kai Greene's personal coach in preparation for the competition. Perhaps stress and other f...

Bodybuilding Body Types: Ectomorph, Mesomorph, Endomorph

Which Type Do You Belong to? Human genetics determine many of the inherent characteristics that we are born with and cannot be changed later in life. However, through regular training and exercise, it is possible to overcome some of the limitations imposed by our genes. In 1940, William Sheldon introduced three distinct body types in his work "The Varieties of Human Physique", which is still used in medicine, science, and sports today. These three body types are known as ectomorph, mesomorph, and endomorph. However, it is important to note that these body types are generalizations and not everyone will fit neatly into one category, as most people are a combination of these body types, with only some aspects of each present in their overall physique.

Dorian Yates 'Less is better!'

There has been much debate and many "spears broken" among theorists regarding the frequency of training in bodybuilding. However, my point of view has the advantage of being proven in practice. Once, when I wanted to know how often I needed to go to the gym, I looked at the blisters on my own hands and found the answer. As we know, the skin on your hands becomes rough when you regularly lift weights. Blisters form as a protective reaction of the skin, but if you overexert your hands with a barbell every day, your skin can't withstand it and may turn into bleeding wounds. Therefore, your skin needs rest, and during that time, it can repair the damaged areas.
